The last thing you want is to have one or two arms lying limply on the floor from careless handling of equipment. Hence in concrete cutting, for your safety, we bring you our top three things you should not do on the site while cutting through concrete.

1.    Don't get to work without your Personal Protective Equipment:

Your safety is just as important as that of others around you. NEVER get to work without your helmet and safety glasses. Your PPE is very important, and not just in concrete cutting. Specks of dust, and in some cases, bits of concrete fly around the site during the working process. Therefore, you must keep your glasses on at all times.

Your rubber gloves and boots are also very important to keep your feet from harm. Don't go to work without them. Also, when working in confined spaces, you must look to ensure that there is enough oxygen supply to prevent suffocation. You must also look to protect your nostrils with respiratory protection masks to protect them from harmful and poisonous gases in the atmosphere.

2.    Don't start working without setting up a barricade or a warning sign

Your safety is important. So is the safety of those that might be around you on the site. It is therefore important to erect the right warning signs and barricades to prevent any hazards no matter how little the time you're going to spend at the site of the construction.

If you're working on a public road, however, erect your sign and establish an alternate route around your work area for passage.

3.    Do not use the wrong equipment for the wrong jobs

In concrete cutting, installing an oversized blade might just be one of the surest ways to put yourself in harm's way. Instead, you must look to install only the right sizes of blades as recommended by the manufacturer on your equipment when cutting concrete. It is important to ensure that the rotations per minute rating is well suited for your equipment.
